I also earned two music degrees: a Bachelor of Music summa cum laude and a Master of Music, both in violin performance, from the University of Houston. I was a highly active professional musician as a member of the San Antonio Symphony, the Jacksonville (FL) Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Symphony, Texas Chamber Orchestra, and the orchestras for Texas Opera Theater, Houston Grand Opera, Virginia Opera, Lake George (NY) Opera Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Carmel (CA) Bach Festival, among others.
